5 women wounded in police action Keshwan road dispute | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report KISHTWAR, July 28: Several people including five women sustained injuries when police used force to disperse agitating people protesting shifting of Keshwan road alignment around Sirgwari village. As per the details available with Early Times, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Kishtwar Dr. Khalid Hussain Malik along with police and contractor of the PMGSY rushed to the spot to start the work but the villagers resisted saying the alignment would endanger human life. The villagers alleged that ACR Kishtwar, did not listen to reason and logic and directed the police to use force. Several persons incuding five women sustained injuries in the police action. The Minister of State for R&B Sunil Kumar Sharma refused to comment on police action. The villagers have expressed determination to resist the alignment. |
