Shah, ors detained in Delhi ahead of meet with Aziz | Talks only on terror: Sushma | | Javaid Naikoo
Early Times Report
Srinagar, Aug 22: Making no bones about the Government of India's decision to keep separatists away from the Pakistan National security advisor, the security agencies imposed restrictions on Shabir Shah led delegation after its arrival in New Delhi on Saturday. According to reports, the security agencies asked the leaders where they would be staying in Delhi. Later they were driven to the place mentioned by them. They were told not to move out of the place. The leaders have been detained ahead of talks between the national Security Advisors of India and Pakistan on Monday at Delhi. The Pakistan High Commissioner had invited separatists over a reception hosted in honour of Pakistan National Security Advisor. Meanwhile, the External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj while welcoming the Pakistan advisor said Islamabad has to keep talks confined to terror. "There is no scope for involving a third party like the separatists in talks and Pakistan must take a decision on this before midnight today and assure that talks would happen on terror only. And if they insist on talking to separatists then the NSA talks may not happen," she said. Earlier Shah said he would like to meet Sartaj Aziz in Delhi tomorrow and added that "today we are going to ask the people of India whether former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, L K Advani or Manmohan Singh were wrong as they never stopped us (separatists) from meeting Pakistani officials when they came to India." According to sources Hardliner, Syed Ali Shah Geelani is scheduled to have a one-on-one conversation with the NSA on Monday morning in Delhi. |
