| JKSCLU demands deduction of PF from daily wagers' wages | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 22 : A meeting of General body of J&K State Central Labour Union (JKSCLU) Jammu was held today on at Bari Brahmana, Samba under the chairmanship of Nar Singh Narania to discuss the various problems/difficulties being faced by the daily wager workers of PHE, PDD, PWD Irrigation and Flood Control, Agriculture Department.
The meeting criticized the government for not deducting their Provident Fund which is a mandatory provision under the J&K Employees Provident Fund Scheme.
The Union appealed the State Government to issue standing instructions to the defaulting Departments to provide Provident Fund benefits to all the daily wagers workers who are working with dedication and have devoted their prime time of the life to the respective departments as they are not entitled for pension benefits as per new Recruitment Policy.
The members also warned the State Government that if no appropriate steps are taken at an earliest the Union shall be compelled to launch agitation and protests in support of the genuine demand of the poor workers. |
