NPSU warns Government to revoke decision of imposing 'Jazyia' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 10: National Panthers Students Union today stages protest demonstration and warned government to revoke decision of imposing Jazyia imposed on air ticketing on Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims. The activists of NPSU gathered at Jammu University gate and started raising slogans against State government. The activists of NPSU also burned effigy of State Government. The protestors were led by Thakur Virender Singh state President NPSU. Singh condemning the Finance Minister for his obdurate posturing and his justification for imposition of service tax on the Helicopter services to Mata Vaishno Devi. He said that the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board which is the regulatory body for conduct of Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrimage had initiated economical Helicopter services especially for the convenience of the ailing and the aged, children, physically challenged as also those having medical problems. Clarifying, he said that the SRO 274 merely states that "Commercial Helicopter Services operating within the State" would be covered within the ambit of Service Tax. Singh warned the State Government to revoke the decision of imposing 'Jazyia' on Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims or NPSU will be forced to lodge massive agitation against BJP-PDP coalition government. Others who were present in the protest demonstatrion included Rishi Badyal, Lovely Singh, Shubam Jasrotia, Sourav, Asha Rani, Rupesh Singh, Nika Singh. |
