Jammu, Sept 10: Students from SPMR College Jammu today staged a protest demonstration under the leadership of Kapil on the 7th consecutive day of hunger strike, against the anti-student Policies of Jammu university.
Students held a protest demanding "carry on" system for all under graduates courses by university authorities last year.
The protest was held under the banner of Students Coordination Committee (SCC) an amalgam of various students and social organizations. The students lodged protest against Higher Education Minister Nayeem Akhter and other authorities of Jammu University.
Addressing the gathering, Kapil said students are on the roads for last students are on the roads for last more the one and half month demanding carry on system but the authorities are not serious about this issue.
He said the Higher Education Minister are very well aware of the fact that the students had been on roads since long demanding carry on system and memorandums had also been submitted to them, but in vain.
He said we are committed to fight for the rights of the students community and will not allow any body to play with the future of students.
The ongoing agitation will not end till the demand of the protesting students is concerned with examination. Govt. Degree College, Ramnagar staged protest in favour of Students who are sitting on chain hunger strike at Jammu University. Later on, Ramnagar College Student blocked National Highway - 1 for more than 2 hours. SDM and Tehsildar, SHO visit the spot and ensured the demand of students will be fulfilled and SDM talked to higher authorities for this concerned issue.
