Early Times Report Udhampur, Sept 10: The irrigation employees under the banner of Workers Welfare Association Irrigation (WWAI) Udhampur today staged a protest in support of their long time pending demand of making a permanent head of need based employees. While addressing the media persons, WWAI leaders said the organizations has been demanding from government that these employees must also be covered in Permanent Head since a long time so that these employees may get their salaries on time every month. Highlighting demands, the protestors demanded they should be given Minimum wages as per rules, release of salaries which still are pending despite assurances from concerned XEn on the occasion of Rakshabandhan. Speakers under the need base employees from PHE, R&B, PDD, PWD to remained united to raise their voice jointly and not to fell into the hands of divisive forces hell bent to sabotage employees' struggle. Speakers also appealed the government to mitigate their demands at earliest. Among others who addressed the protestors included Secretary Pavan Kumar , Joint Secretary Jagdeep Chander, Bodhraj (President Ramnagar Sub Div), Darshan Singh, Sudesh kumar (sub division Thatti ), Ranjeet singh, Charan Dass, Vijay Kumar and Anwar. |
