| Youth Congress protests against PWD, seeks road connectivity | | |  Early Times Report
Kathua, Sept 10: Dozens of people hailing from village Haria Chack falling under tehsil Hiranagar today staged protest demonstration outside DDC Complex.
The protesters were shouting slogans MLA Hiranagar down, PWD down, BJP- PDP government down with the support of Youth Congress Hiranagar.
The protesters blocked College road for half an hour and sought blacktopping on 10 km road from Rajbagh to Hariachack, village situated near International border.
The protest was led by Sumit Sharma, Block President Youth Congress Hiranagar who alleged government especially PWD department of ignoring their sufferings and 500 people have been suffering for long due to worse road connectivity. While addressing to protesters, he said bad road connectivity makes difficult for people especially patients and minors to travel and reach on destination at proper time.
Youth Congress leader said the matter was highlighted before DDC Kathua few days back where JEs conducted survey but nothing has been done thereafter. He said MLA Hiranagar broke out their agitation with the assurance to proceed with the demand to concern authority but his hollow assurance exposed his interest in blacktopping the road. The protesters demanded blacktopping with immediate effect otherwise threatened to stage massive protest demonstration at National Highway 1A. |
