Hyundai Indoor cricket cup concludes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Sept 10: With a view to identifying and encouraging young talent in sports, KC Sports Club with support from Hyundai had launched a monthly event in Cricket. Today the final match was played in the air-conditioned indoor Cricket Hall with 9 pitches, 5 fast and 4 spin pitches with surface of 16000sq. ft. The Tiger Turf surface imported from New Zealand and ideally suited for both pace and spin bowling as well as for batting. Automatic Bola bowling machine is also available for batting practice. The final match was played between Young Warrior Cricket Club and Young Cricket Club. The teams were played as per the rules of the indoor Cricket prevalent in the world today. Both the teams played the match with great zeal. The result at the end of the match was as follows Young Warrior Cricket Club won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first Young Warrior put up a score of 49 runs in 16 overs. Uttkarsh, Balvinder and Sajjad scored 14, 10 and 6 runs respectively. From bowling side Sumit took 3, Abu took 1 wicket. In reply, Young Cricket Club lost all the wickets at 45 in 11.4 over and lost the match. Tazam scored 18 runs for his side, Sumit scored 11 runs and Paras made 6 runs. From bowling side Balvinder and Hanzala took 3 wickets each, Devatas took 2 wickets. The Medals and Trophies were distributed among the runner and winner teams. At the end of the match players practiced with the bola bowling machine to improve their reflexes under the supervision of YSCE coaches. |
