Health Department to set up water testing Lab | | | Early Times Report
Bhadarwah, Oct 1: The Health Department has decided to provide to set up Water Testing Lab at Sub District Hospital Bhaderwah consequent upon spread of Typhoid Fever due to water borne disease known as Gastroenteritis last week. While interacting with the media persons , Dr. Tariq Mahmolod, District Health Officer, Doda informed that this has been necessitated to provide safe drinking water in the rural areas with the aim to increase the frequency of water testing and to decentralize monitoring and surveillance of all the drinking water sources in Bhaderwah and it adjoining areas adding that the manpower required to run the Lab are already available. He further said that an awareness campaign shall be started to enlighten the public and water samples from each and every source of drinking water shall be evaluated regularly to provide safe and worth drinking water to the public. While replying to a question, Dr. Tariq informed that Lab would primarily concentrate on anal zing the emerging water quality parameters such as heavy and toxic elements, pesticides, chlorine by-products etc. |
