Ram Madhav commended, BJP condemned | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 1: An ardent supporter of the PDP the other day came out in support of BJP national general secretary and one of the main architects of the controversial agenda of alliance Ram Madhav and asserted that it was his intervention that made the local BJP leadership not to make any provocative statement on the ongoing controversy over the issue of bovine killing and consumption of beef. "Fortunately for the state the coalition partner BJPs points man in the state Ram Madhav doused rising passions by downplaying the beef crisis, triggered in the first place by a BJP lawyer (in this case Parimoksh Seth) who had invoked the High Court's powers to enforce a dormant anti cow slaughter law," he said and added that "Ram Madhav had obviously asked his party men not to precipitate a crisis on the issue". "And the crisis that had the potential to destabilize the coalition between the PDP and the BJP was thus averted yet again," he further said. "With the saffron parivar determined to pursue its goals nationally, let alone Jammu & Kashmir. It is more likely that points of friction between the two parties in the state will continue to get even sharper. I didn't believe but a senior retired bureaucrat of an earlier vintage warned that the BJP was busily pursuing its stated objectives in the state. The Jammuites were encouraged to think of themselves as a very distinct and different entity in the overall context. He saw a clear design in the BJP's policy pursuits in the state. He even shared his fear that in the given circumstances the state government itself may lose the cohesiveness to secure the tools to usher in overall development of the State," he further said. He also said: "How come that almost the entire component of the BJP in the state happened to be present in Jammu the day Ram Madhav persuaded them to restrain themselves on the divisive issue of that day, namely, beef and cow slaughter. Almost exactly at the same time as most other members of the Cabinet were formally meeting in Srinagar in the Chief Minister's presence. A crisis situation was created; and later when the Chief Minister's disappointment over the developments became known there was reason enough for BJP's Ram Madhav to call his party's nominees in the Cabinet to order". There is a point in what this Delhi-based PDP supporter of Kashmir origin said. Indeed, Ram Madhav and Mufti Sayeed held meetings with their party men almost simultaneously. Ram Madhav met with the BJP ministers, MLAs, MLCs and core committee members at the state guest house in Jammu and Mufti Sayeed met with the PDP ministers, legislators and other party leaders at his official Gupkar Road residence in Srinagar. There are reasons to believe that both Ram Madhav and Mufti Sayeed must have talked to each other to work out a strategy to save the government. It is obvious that Ram Madhav came to Jammu with a mission. That's the reason the PDP's staunch supporter commended the efforts of Ram Madhav and condemned the Sangh Parivar. Of course, he committed a mistake by trying to convey an impression that the Sangh Parivar held a view different from that of Ram Madhav. The truth is that Ram Madhav is an important member of the Sangh Parivar and he does only what his masters in the Parivar ask him to do. |
