Apple Kids students visit Fire Station | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 7: Tiny tots of Apple Kids International Pre-school, Bantalab here were today taken to Roop Nagar Fire Station to give them first-hand knowledge of fire safety equipments and preparedness on part of the department during ongoing Fire Prevention Week. Dressed in full uniforms, firemen gave the live demonstration of a fire extinguishing mission. The students were informed about the measures to be adopted to prevent fire incidents. Visiting students were also imparted knowledge about the first-aid given to burnt persons in case of a fire incident. "They were also shown the specially designed vehicles of Fire Brigade and were made to sit inside," Director of the School, Arti Sharma informed. The arrangements made by the department were commendable. They briefed the students about the uses of all the fire appliances and acquainted them with all the fire equipments. They also distributed sweets among the students. "The motto behind today's visit was to give practical Knowledge to students as seeing something happening before eyes leaves a lasting impression, especially among the small children. It was to bring students closer to an activity which we often talk about in our day to day life," she maintained. Later, Station Incharge of Fire and Emergency Station, Roopnagar, Vijay Kumar, briefed the students about the preventive measures which should be adopted against fire accidents. He also appreciated the school management for taking students for educational outings to such places. |
