Srinagar, Oct 7: The Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Suknandan Kumar, on Wednesday said the government will soon constitute a Cabinet Sub-Committee (CSC) that will frame a policy for the causal labourers. Kumar informed the House during the Zero Hour that the CSC would be constituted in next cabinet meeting. "I assure the House that it will be constituted in the next cabinet meeting," Kumar said. During the discussion, MLA Khanshab, Budgam Hakeem Yasin urged the government to frame a committee for all causal labourers working in different government departments. "It is a grave concern. Thousands of daily-rated workers have completed even 10 to 15 years in these departments and have turned over age, but they have not been regularized. Some of them have been engaged on contractual basis while others on need basis. They have been facing lot of financial hardships," Yasin said, demanding that all daily rated/consolidated workers services should be regularized. |
