Students of MCNM deptt of CUJ visit DD Jammu office | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 7: To gain firsthand experience of complete television production process, the students of Department of Mass Communication and New Media (MCNM) of Central University of Jammu (CUJ), Tuesday visited Delhi Doordarshan Jammu office. Students of Ist and 3rd semester of MCNM department along with their faculty members Assistant Professor Dr. Bachha Babu, Manish Prakash and Rashid Ali visited the DD office Janipur, and saw the intricate processes involved in the pre production, production and post production in visual communication process. At the outset of visit, students had an interaction with Director DD Jammu Anjali Sharma, Assistant Director and News Editor Sanjit Khajuria. After welcome address by Director DD Jammu, Sanjit Khajuria gave a detailed description about long journey of DD in Jammu and Kashmir and also shared his practical experiences in field. After interaction, Khajuria took the students to the Production Studio and Control room, where he gave description about working of various technical equipments used throughout the production process. The visit gave students an opportunity to know about the high class machinery involved in production and transmission of programmes, made by DD from Jammu to various peripherial stations by uplinking through satellite across Jammu province and also to New Delhi and vice-versa. The students were acquainted to the process of news arrival from district offices to News Reporting room, sorting and eventually, after editing the sending of news to Chief Editor's desk to Studio for production and transmission. It was a great learning experience for students, who got insights of the world of television production. The faculty members of MNCM thanked all the team members of DD office Jammu for sparing precious time from their busy schedule for their students. |
