According to sources that, there is a nexus between Estates Department and Hoteliers, Department is earning hefty amount of money from hoteliers as the government quarters for Civil Secretariat employees is allotted to blue eyed persons. Sources wishing not to be named said that, "Every year huge amount of money is being spent on the accommodation of Durbar move employees which is misused by the top government officials in the department. Meanwhile President Non Gazetted Civil Secretariat Employees Union (NGCSEU) Ghulam Rasool told early times over the phone that, "government must initiate enquiry on the allotments of government accommodation viz quarters private or hotel owners. "We were promised by the authorities during the meetings which held from time to time with regard to eviction of illegal occupants, restoring of secretariat employees quota and allotment of accommodation strictly on the basis of length of service, the president said. However president alleged that the director estates G.N Itoo has accommodated his blue eyed employees/ causal labours/ contractual employees in TRC and thrown out all secretariat employees who were residing there since decades. Most of the employees who are working outside department are accommodated in luxurious hotels and majority of the secretariat employees are on roads without accommodation, president maintained. He said that, the director estates have accommodated his blue eyed employees and influential people in relaxation of rules out of quota meant for secretariat employees. In the first phase of dharna, the union has decided to get the issues of estates department settled in a time bound manner, he added. President said that, with regard to our issues related to finance and General Administration Department (GAD) the hon'ble finance minister, chief secretary and commissioner secretary to government have assured us that all the issue will be settled at an earliest. |
