CEO reviews special summary revision of electoral roll 11/17/2015 11:47:40 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 17: Chief Electoral Officer J&K Shantmanu today convened meeting with District Election Officers (Deputy Commissioners) of Jammu province and reviewed the progress of Special Summary Revision-2016. Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, Rishpal Singh, was also present in the meeting. Threadbare discussions were held on various vital issues including number of AC Wise claims and objections received during Special Summary Revision-2016, Status of data entry of claims and objections made, disposal of claims and objections by concerned EROs in ERMS, etc. The meeting was informed that in Jammu province approximately 90000 new voters have applied for registration of their names in the electoral roll. At the same time there will be approximately 40000 deletions and approximately 45000 applications have been received for correction and modification and 5000 applications for transposition. Shantmanu said that the Election Department is exercising to register all the eligible voters who have attained the age of 18 years or above as on January 1, 2016. He informed that left out voters if any can also apply for registrations in the continuous updation of electoral roll process.
