Early Times Report Bishnah, Jan 17: Taking a dig at the successive dispensation in J&K State for careless handling of issues of reserved categories, the Jammu Kashmir Reserve Categories Employees Association (JKRCEA), in a day long save reservation programme organized by Bishnah Chapter, have alleged of plotting to take away reservation given to deprived classes. According to press release, the JKRCEA said that cutting across the political, socio-religious affiliation, the member of various groups, social activists, non-employees and, employees of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), Residents of Backward Areas (RBA) and Actual Line of Control (ALC) have attended this programme in large number at Guru Ravi Dass Mandir and pledged their all kind of support to JKRCEA. Dr. Sanjay Bhasin, President JKRCEA, while speaking on the occasion said that the reservation system was ingrained in the Indian Constitution for the upliftment of the downtrodden and not a political tool as portrayed by anti-reservation groups. He also said that JKRCEA, which has now become a staunch movement of masses, has launched a crusade for the protection of constitutional rights of marginalized classes and this would soon attain a shape of permanent solution of their problems, which the people of reserved classes encounter day in, and day out. Highlighting the objectives and formation of JKRCEA, Dr. Bhasin said that this group will follow the ideology of Dr. BR Ambedkar which is only the way to safeguard the social, economic, educational and developmental rights of the downtrodden. Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, General Secretary JKRCEA while speaking on the occasion said that the time has now come when all the sub-groups of Scheduled Castes, Scchedued Tribes and other backward communities have to unite under single umbrella and raise the single voice for their right. He further said, "So far these communities were under serious exploitation and victim of conspiracies thus instead of their problems ameliorated, the suffering and grievances of these communities have piled so up that the same have attained a gigantic situation not in a single sphere but in each and every aspect of reservation like recruitment, promotion, placement, transfer procedures and the overall socio-economic & educational development of these section is very disappointing." Zabeer Ahmed also appealed the communities to support the hands of JKRCEA which as on date took lead in voicing against the breach of constitutional safeguard entitled to them. |
