To figure in PSC's interview panel, JU prof trying to become HoD | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 17: Prof Archana Kesar, who was removed from the post of HoD of Dogri Department of Jammu University following a controversy, is said to be making desperate efforts to again occupy the top post in the department to find a place in the PSC's panel for interviews of assistant professors. "She can figure in the PSC's interview panel only when she is HoD, so she was making all out efforts to become HoD of Dogri department," JU sources said. She has remained in news for one reason or the other in the past and was allegedly removed from the post of HoD Dogri while three scholars were suspended for maligning JU image in February 2015. She was also allegedly punished for 'intentionally' leaking out a confidential letter and then not responding to the explanation notice issued to her by the university administration. She was also removed from the other two positions in the university, sources alleged. She had also remained a subject of discussion for guiding only 'three PhD scholars' in her entire career and for allegedly harassing scholars. Prof Kesar had supervised only three PhD scholars in her entire career of almost 30 years. According to UGC norms, a professor had to supervise eight scholars at a time, sources informed. She was inducted in 1985 and since then she had supervised only three PhD scholars. "A number of scholars were enrolled under her, but due to her alleged indifferent attitude and approach towards them, most of them had withdrawn their registrations," sources said, adding that Sunita Badwal and Rani Thakur were among those scholars who had withdrawn their registrations due to their alleged harassment by Prof Kesar. |
