Rajouri, Jan 17 : Lam Battalion of Nowshera Brigade organized a cleaning campaign in Lam-Laroka area in Rajouri district, under Swach Bharat Abhiyan, today. Unit spokesman said that the event was organized as run up to Nowshera Day celebrations scheduled to be held onFebruary 7 and large scale of volunteers from the schools, their parents and other locals from the area took part in this event. "The main objective of the campaign was to initiate everyone to keep their surroundings clean and work towards creating a population free and healthy society" said a senior army officer. The locals appreciated the realistic and value based efforts of the Army and renewed their commitment to make the society green, clean and healthy. Meanwhile Rumlidhara Battalion of Naushera Brigade also organized a painting competition for the children of Bal Ashram at Nowshera. The event provided the children to display their talents and express their exhibitory skills, original ideas and feelings through beautiful paintings. During the inauguration, Commander, Nowshera Brigade stressed upon the importance of basic education including extra-curricular activities. Mohammad Rafeeq, Superintendent of Bal Ashram said that such events are a huge inspiration for the children to promote educational development of the children towards their better future. The event was marked with great enthusiasm from the children. |
