After Shah Faesal, NC-PDP fight it out over 'Ibnebattuta' | | | Abbas Ali Early Times Report Srinagar, Jan 30: A few days after National Conference "ridiculed" presence of Education Director Shah Faesal at a "political event" hosted by PDP here, the NC has trained guns on another Kashmiri officer, who is accused of having worked as "PDP henchman." Interestingly, both the regional parties are washing dirty linen in public over role of bureaucracy in politics, making people laugh on how "Kashmiri officials remain connected to political parties from time to time." The latest target happens to be Saadut Hussain, a government official, accused of having handled social media accounts under the name IbneBattutta during the Omar Abdullah led government "only to defame" the then coalition.NC said Hussain was unduly favored by the previous PDP regime to reward him for his duty as "party henchman". Last month Saadut Hussain was "unduly" elevated as the Chief Executive Officer Jammu and Kashmir E Governance Agency, though he was allegedly "too junior an officer to have been given the prestigious charge." "The charge of the Executive Officer Jammu and Kashmir E Governance Agency is hereby assigned to Saadut Hussain, Executive Manager J&K Bank Limited, presently on deputation in J&K Government Grievance cell," reads the order issued by the General Administration Department vide number 1561-GAAD of 2015 dated December 21,2015. The NC has openly condemned the promotion terming it "Shame." "This is how PDP bends the laws to make a JK Bank Manager a CEO - the same Saadut Hussain who as @ibnebattuta abuses, vilifies and defames NC leaders. This is the change PDP promised? To adjust its workers illegally on senior posts by amending laws and eligibility criteria???? SHAME!!!," NC spokesman Junaid Mattu said on social media even as he posted the order copy of Saadut Hussain's promotion. PDP youth leaders Wahid Rehman Parra and Tahir Syed sharply reacted to the NC statements. "If @ibnebattuta was vocal critic of your regime, lakhs of other Kashmir's were too but your leader(Omar Abdullah) was concerned only about people on twitter," Parra tweeted on Twitter. This post was re-twitted by Tahir Sayed who also joined the chorus. A week ago, the National Conference, had remarked Saadut and another government official. "What are Director Education Shah Faesal and Saadat Hussain (aka @Ibnebattuta) doing at a Political event at PDP President's residence? One is a bureaucrat and another is a JK Bank employee paid apparently to serve the PDP," the NC Spokesman said adding "We are formally approaching the Honourable Governor's office to register a complaint." The NC leaders said if any official wants to support any political party then they should formally join it. "If you want to be part of a political party - join it! Taking government salary and being associated with a political party so brazenly is not only improper but also illegitimate," the NC leader said on social media. The PDP on the other hand came out in support of Shah Faesal and Saadut Hussain when NC leader Tanvir Sadiq said government servants should not behave as "PDP hunchmen". "It is really unfortunate if government servants behave like party workers or henchman," Sadiq had said. The PDP however has been openly saying that names of Shah Faesal and Saadut Hussain were being unduly dragged into controversy by the NC. "NC has no work but to systematically defame officers who have been good to us," said a PDP leader. He said NC should peep into its own misdeeds of the Omar Abdullah regime when only officials loyal to his party would be given free hand to run the government. "Why they blame us," he added. |
