Tussle over seating arrangement on R-Day | Amid PDP-BJP face-off, ADC Kishtwar issues notice | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Jan 30: After massive outrage over the occupancy of seat reserved for PDP and NC MLCs by a BJP leader during Republic Day function at Kishtwar followed by outrageous message by a revenue official, the PDP and BJP had a face-off over the issue as both the parties were seen involved in an open spat. The PDP termed the probe initiated by the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar as mere eyewash. As per the details available with Early Times, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar who has been entrusted an inquiry by the DC Kishtwar to probe into the derogatory message circulated by the revenue official allegedly at behest of some senior government official has issued general notice and asked the public to produce such objectionable contents along with his/her objections on such elements. Some officials of Kishtwar had allegedly uploaded objectionable contents on social media against the MLC and district administration. While talking to Early Times, PDP district president Sheikh Nasir Hussain termed the inquiry and the notice issued by the ADC Kishtwar as mere eyewash, and added that it is unwarranted to issue such notice by the inquiry officer when PDP had already provided proof to the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar with regard to breach of privilege by the employee posted in Deputy Commissioner Office Kishtwar. "It is a clear case of cyber crime. Instead of acting against the guilty officials, administration is trying to buy the time with an aim to shield the guilty officials responsible for the mess at Republic Day function followed by the circulation of derogatory message against MLC," said Hussain. He said that party is mulling all options and will approach highest quarters for initiating action against the guilty. Meanwhile, NC's district secretary Kishtwar Shabir Ahmed Kamal said the party will react to the notice issued by ADC Kishtwar and added that the notice was deliberately published late in the newspapers with an aim to kill the issue. "It is not the matter of PDP or NC--- it is the matter of dishonouring the democratic institutions. Our party will not let the guilty to go scot free," said Kamal as he demanded action against the officials involved behind dishonouring the democratic institutions. The sources informed Early Times that former BJP Minister Sunil Sharma and majority of BJP workers from Kishtwar have come in support of the district administration and justified their move for offering the empty seat of MLCs to BJP leader who had got over 17000 votes in last assembly elections. |
