| POF asks Mehbooba to clear stand on Govt formation | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 30: Public Opinion Forum (POF), in a meeting held here today, has asked the President People's Democratic Party (PDP) to clear her stand on Government formation in Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting, which held under the chairmanship of Forum president, Parveen Sharma and attended besides others by executive members held deliberations on the political uncertainty prevailing in the formation of Jammu and Kashmir Government, after the demise of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammed Sayeed.
The POF called upon Mahbooba Mufti, to open her cards about the formation of Government in alliance with BJP, while honouring the expectations of the people of the state.
"The continuous silence on her part on the issue causing great concern among the people who are looking for the solutions of the problems confronting them and the future of the development projects initiated by the PDP-BJP alliance government for which the Centre Government has liberally financed.
The delay in making decision on the matter is casting aspersions on the credibility and capability of the present PDP leadership," expressing their concern members said.
The Forum pointed out that delay in the formation of the Government shall prove to be damaging for both the coalition partners PDP and BJP and this alliance can only provide political stability. Any other option of alliance for the formation of the Government is going to be short lived.
However, if PDP is reluctant to have any future partnership in the Government, then BJP should look for other alternatives in the formation of the Government.
Members were of the views that the party has great responsibility towards the people of Jammu and Ladakh region who have been suffering from the worst kind of discrimination at the hands of Kashmiri leadership and also Congress Party which always sacrificed their interests to appease Kashmir, after the accession of the state with Indian Union. The people of these regions have laid high hopes on the party.
The POF was of the opinion that any other formation to lead the Government shall be suicidal for the unity and integrity of the state. The people of Jammu province who voted massively in favour of BJP in the last assembly elections and also those of Ladakh, shall feel extremely alienated and therefore look for separation from Kashmir Valley and for the creation of separate states within Indian Union. |
