Chief Electoral Officer chairs officers meet 1/31/2016 12:19:14 AM Early Times Report KATHUA, Jan 30: Chief Electoral Officer J&K, Shantmanu visited Kathua and chaired a meeting of officers here at DC Office Complex today. Stressing on the need to put in concerted efforts by the concerned officers CEO asked ADDC Kathua to further direct all the EROs to involve men and machinery so that no eligible voter is left out from the electoral roll. Shantmanu also said that the Kathua district is having one of the largest expanse comprising one Municipal Council ( Kathua City )and five municipal committees viz Basohli, Billawar, Hiranagar, Lakhanpur and Nagri so there is the need to take up the exercise of ward wise segregation of electoral areas to avoid any confusion and error. He also stressed for timely completion of addition, deletion and correction process besides improving electoral sex ratio of the district. He said the state will undergo Panchayat elections after the elections of Urban Local Bodies which shall be an extensive exercise.
