CAPD labourers resume duty | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, FEB 2: Following assurance from the consumer affairs and public distribution (CAPD) to the food and allied workers for redresses of their demands, labourers have reportedly resumed their duties and the ration supply is being restored. A superficial glance at the scores of ration depots at the outskirts of Jammu city concluded that long queues of consumers throng the depots to take their respective ration as after two months ration again being restore as due to strike consumers have to fend for themselves and ratio depots run dry. Consumers sharing details with early times expressed satisfaction over resumption of duties byh the labourers. "We have faced great inconvenience," they said. They criticised the CAPD for not increasing the timing of the ration depot. They said the CAPD has to issue sugar at the ration depots but as these unscrupulous dealers try to mislead the gullible consumers they may release sugar for the month of February only". Consumers urged the CAPD to do the needful as there is need to increase the timings of ration depots till the backlog of ration is being completed coupled with issued a circular to dealers to give sugar of January and February to each rationees, failing which stern action will be taken against defaulters. An official of the CAPD said: "We thank you for your suggestions. But you better talk tio the director," he said. Director CAPD JAMMU G S CHIB could not contacted. |
