SI among two CRPF jawans injured in Grenade attack in Bijbehara | | | Saahil Suhail Early Times Report
Anantnag, Feb 2: Two CRPF personals including a Sub-Inspector (SI) sustained injuries when suspected militants threw hand grenade on them in Arwani village of Bijbehara when the security forces were conducting a search operation in the area. According to reports, Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) cordoned Arwani village of the district here today after having some inputs about the presence of militants. Reports added when forces were tightening the cordon around village and started house to house search operation, some suspected militants hurled a grenade which exploded besides the troops of search team. "Two CRPF personals including one Sub Inspector of CRPF got injure in grenade explosion, the initial reports said adding that the injured were immediately shifted to Sub-district Hospital (SDH) Bijbehara for treatment. "The condition of Injured CRPF personnel is said to be stable, sources added. They said that two local Hizbul-Mujahideen ultras identified as Abid Rashid, Aamir Wagay both residents of Bijbehara were present in the area when forces laid the cordon in the area. They claimed that both the militants however managed to break down the cordon after firing few rounds and hurling a grenade. "We haven't called off the cordon yet, search operation is still going on," a senior official told Early Times. The official added that two CRPF personnel sustained injuries in the attack which militants apparently carried out to break the cordon. |
