Local body polls to decide future course of PDP 2/6/2016 11:29:22 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 6: Proposed Local Body elections in Jammu and Kashmir will decide the future course of PDP on Government formation in Jammu and Kashmir and hence the Governor's rule in the State is all set to continue for the next three-four months. According to the highly placed sources in the Raj Bhawan, the PDP supremo Mehbooba Mufti has made it clear that she was not in a hurry to form Government either with BJP or Congress while the high command of the saffron party has preferred to adopt wait and watch policy. Both the parties made their stand clear before the Governor N N Vohra three days back following which appointment of Advisors to the Governor was made, sources added. Even as the PDP did not specify the time frame, required to it for Government formation, sources disclosed that an indirect message was conveyed to the Governor that the party would initiate exercise in this regard only after proposed Local Body elections. Maintaining distance with BJP and not forming Government in alliance with saffron party may help PDP to regain the lost ground in Kashmir Valley to some extent while outcome of the Local Body elections would establish how much this strategy helps Mehooba, sources explained. Pertinent to mention that the Governor N N Vohra has already issued directions to the concerned authorities for preparations to conduct the Local Body elections, which are likely to be held in the State by April, this year. Even as the former BJP ministers in J&K are still in a hurry for Government formation, sources said that the party high command is fully convinced that Governor's rule in J&K would help the party also to dodge anti-incumbency factor during the Local Body elections.
