Female Ph D scholar alleges personal vendetta behind not releasing MSC | More shame for JU | | ET Report JAMMU, Feb 7: A female of university of Jammu has been denied her Minimum Standards Certificate and the opportunity to present her application to the Department Research Committee by the university authority. Moreover, she has reportedly been victim of the personal vendetta of some senior professors for last many years. "Two influential professors of Jammu University have influenced the authority not to release MSC in my favour as I had filed an FIR against one of the professors on charges of bribery in 2007, "alleged scholar, Dr Rajni Sharma, adding that following her complaints, Prof Sudan was suspended (vide order No Adm/TW/2007/7142-90 dated 15/2/2007) and subsequently apologised in a letter dated 17.05.2007 to Vice Chancellor of the Jammu University quoted in order no Adm/TW/2007/8697-8700 to the University and gave a commitment that such conduct would not be repeated. Then the case against him was closed and he was reinstated (vide order no Adm/TW/2007/8688-8695 dated 22.05-2007). "Unfortunately, the Prof. FK Sudan had not realized his mistake in letter and spirit. The personal vendetta can be gauged from the fact that the Professor along with Prof Jasbir Singh, who was also the committee member for conducting interviews, did not selected me as contractual lecturer despite higher merit," she alleged. Moreover, the campus interviews were conducted not in July (as in 2014) but in late September in 2015 so that there would be change in headships just before interviews. She further alleged that now, influential Professors were influencing the administration of JU for not releasing MSC, due to which she could not appear in PSC interview for the post of Assistant Professor. She also said that the matter was taken up with VC office on September 29, 2015 and CASH inside the University of Jammu and rather than redressing her issue, a CASH in-charge Arti Bakshi discouraged her and said that "it would be better for you to leave the University as you have no power to fight against the powerful person of the university". She further said that she had also knocked the door of Governor J&K, pervious Higher Education Minister, Advisor to Chief Minister and Women Commission related to this matter but her pleas fell on deaf ears. |
