JKNPP holds protest, seeks dissolution of J&K Assembly | | | Agencies
New Delhi, Feb 7 : Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party today held a demonstration here to press for immediate dissolution of the J&K Assembly and holding fresh elections in the state. Led by its top leaders, including patron Bhim Singh and chairperson Harsh Dev Singh, the JKNPP organised a protest march against continuation of the Governor's rule. The march commenced from Jantar Mantar and was headed towards Parliament when it was stopped by the police. Harsh Dev Singh said as the PDP was reluctant to continue with its coalition with the BJP and the National Conference rooting for fresh elections, there was no justification in perpetuation of the Governor' rule. He alleged that the BJP wants to rule the state by proxy. The party cautioned it would escalate agitation in the national Capital and in the state if its demand went unheeded. Singh said his party would submit a memorandum to the Centre regarding dissolution of the Assembly soon. |
