Bovine animals rescued, smuggler escapes | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Feb 7: Police rescued bovine animals during checking at Kunderdhan near Chasana here in the wee hours of this morning while these were being taken towards Budhal. Police sources said seeing cops, who had laid a naka at Kunderdhan at about 4 am, the driver of Tata Mobile (JK11/0601) parked fled the vehicle by the roadside and fled the spot leaving it behind. While the cops seized the vehicle, which had bovine animals in it, the driver could not be traced. A case under section 188 of RPC and 3 of PC Act was registered in this connection at the concerned police station. Police had contacted the authorities in ARTO office here to identify the owner of the vehicle for further investigation and action. Meanwhile, a bootlegger was also apprehended from Kunderdhan area by the naka party. He was identified as Partap Singh alias Babloo, son of Chain Singh of Chassana. Thirteen bottles of Rum were recovered from his possession. He was booked under section 48(a) of Excise Act. |
