Dissolve assembly, divide J&K, hold fresh elections: Hari Om | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 7: The month-long deadlock over government formation once again established that political differences between Jammu and Kashmir are irreconcilable and that the only viable and final solution to the problems facing different regions of the state is dissolution of the Assembly, four-way split of this unnatural formation, called J&K State, and hold fresh elections in the reorganized state to enable people to elect governments of their own choice, said Prof Hari Om on Sunday in a press statement issued in Jammu. "Late Chief Minister Mufti Sayeed did make a valid point when he described Jammu province and Kashmir Valley South Pole and North Pole. That's the reason he entered into an alliance with the BJP in order to harmonize inter-regional relations and end inter-regional bitterness and animosities for a bigger purpose and achieve his most cherished dream of accommodating Pakistan in this part of state," said Prof Hari Om, adding that the 2015 experiment utterly failed to produce the desired results. "It only accentuated further the inter-regional angularities and hurt the PDP in the Valley and converted the BJP into an object of contempt and ridicule in its own Jammu constituency and rest of the country," he said. "Even if fresh elections are held today, the results would be no different from those of 2014. The people will give a fractured mandate like they did in 2002, 2008 and 2014. There should be no doubt about. Fractured mandate will only lead to political instability in the sensitive border state and we have to avert this eventuality at any cost in the larger national interest and interest of the people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and the internally-displaced Kashmiri Hindus," said Prof Hari Om. "The alliance between unnatural allies instead of bridging the gulf between the regions has further widened the already rather wide gulf between them and the results are before the nation with the politically conscious people of Kashmir and Jammu urging both the parties to go their own way to meet the needs and compulsions of their respective constituencies," claimed Prof Hari Om. He said to yoke together disparate regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and keep their inhabitants and also Kashmiri Hindus under a single state would again lead to growing discontent and ultimate destruction of any system that may be so built up for the government of such a state. He said the four-way split of J&K is the imperative necessity. He asserted that trifurcation of J&K into three full-fledged states of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and bifurcation of Kashmir into Kashmir state and Panun Kashmir state will benefit Kashmiri Muslims, Kashmiri Hindus, people of Jammu province and people of Ladakh region as well as the country. They would be master in their own respective houses and enjoy the fruits of Indian democracy, which, sadly, didn't happen during all these years of the state's accession with India, he said and held New Delhi, Kashmiri leadership and its henchmen in Jammu, vested interests and fake secularists in J&K, New Delhi and elsewhere in India responsible for the unending conflict between the regions in the state and persecution of miniscule minorities like Kashmiri Hindus. Such a reorganization of the state will not only end inter-regional conflict for all the times to come, but will also enable New Delhi to start parleys with Kashmiri Muslim leaders of all shades of opinion to find what exactly they wanted and what could satisfy their respective constituencies subject to the condition that the solution will be strictly within the framework of Indian Constitution, he also opined. He expressed hope that Narendra Modi Government would rise to the occasion and use the available opportunity to first dissolve the Assembly, then divide J&K into four states and thereafter ask the Election Commission to organize elections so that people of all the four newly-created states get popular governments. If he does so, he would be remembered for his act of statesmanship for centuries, Prof Hari Om said. |
