CME organized by Gastroenterology Department of SSH Jammu 2/8/2016 10:50:19 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 8: CME was organized by Dr Shoket Chowdhary Head Department of Gastroenterology Superspeciality Hospital of GMC Jammu and his team. The state of art lecture was delivered by renowned Gastroenterologist of the country Dr Ajit Sood, Prof & Head department of Gastroenterology DMC Ludhiana. Dr Sood delivered lecture on controversial management issues in Gastroenterology- latest trends and scientific updates, the focus of his talk was doctors from across specialties involved in management of related liver disorders in different age groups and genders, amongst the audiences about 200 doctors from different specialties like Surgeons, Gynaecologists, Pediatricians, Radiologists, postgraduates and general practitioner from all around Jammu province gathered to listen to him and exchanged ideas. Dr Shoket Chowdhary Head department of Gastroenterology in his brief and crisp address apprised the audience about the achievement and progress made by the department of gastroenterology after its inception about 2 years back. He informed the delegates that Gastroenterology related problems are relatively more common in north India and still more common in our state due to faulty food habits, the department of gastroenterology is organizing frequently such programmes in the interest of delivering latest on the horizon to the needy. On World Hepatitis day last year free screening and vaccinations done to the techinician, nurses and paramedics delivering health care services in superspeciality Hospital of GMC Jammu and this year screening and free vaccination was done at press club Jammu for media personnel since the theme this year was " to reach out " and none other than media can help you to reach out and spread awareness to the society about do's and don'ts of Hepatitis and many more such activities were organized by the department.
