Admn asks docs, paramedics to remain present in hospitals | | | Ishtiyaq Ahmad Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Feb 8: Asking doctors, paramedical staff to remain present in their respective headquarters, the Government on Monday warned that in case they were found to be absent at their respective headquarters, strict disciplinary action would be taken against them. According to the official sources the Advisor to Governor N.N Vohra, Parvez Dewan who has been assigned the charge of the Health and Medical Education, directed all the HOD's of the hospitals to identify those officials who are habitual to remain absent from their duties. "We will not tolerate those who are habitual to remain absent from their duties. We will identify them and action will be taken against them," sources quoting Dewan having said. Sources said that these directions have come following the reports that the doctors especially posted in the rural areas are not punctual to their duties and are spending their most of the time in the private practices. Sources said that the Governor N. N Vohra has also directed the officials to make serious efforts to solve problems being faced by the people. "Any complaint regarding non seriousness on behalf of any official will be dealt severely and the officers will be punished," "It has been observed that the district officials are not paying adequate attention to redressal of grievances. Governor has warned that any laxity on this front will not be tolerated by the Government and stringent action would be taken against callous officials," sources said and added that the Governor has also asked the officials to hear out the problems brought before them by general public, list them and ensure time bound and adequate action on the complaints. |
