Kargil police organises 1st ever Ice Hockey Tournament at Drass 2/8/2016 11:34:41 PM Early Times Report jammu, Feb 8: The five days long Ice Hockey Tournament organised by District Police Kargil at Ice Hockey Rink Goshan Drass concluded today with Chiktan Blue emerging as the winning team of the final match played between Chiktan Blue and Himalayan Drass .In a neck to neck match Chiktan Blue managed to score 03 goals whereas Himalayan Drass scored 01 goal.09 teams from Kargil District participated in the tournament which played their matches showing high spirit of sportsmanship spirit in sub zero freezing temperature. Lauding the role of District Police Kargil, the Chief Guest ,Sh.Hanifa Jan ,Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC Kargil said that District Police Kargil is contributing tremendously for promotion of the traditional as well as modern games and keeping the youth involved in healthy practices .He assured full cooperation to the players n promoters of this tough winter game. Superintendent of Police Kargil Rahul Malik - IPS in address to the huge gathering assured that District Police Kargil is committed to encourage the youth n local talent for which he and his team are relentlessly thriving hard. Later, prizes, medals and mementos were distributed among the players. The winning team was awarded a handsome cash of Rs. 25000 and the Runner up team with a cash prize of Rs.12500 besides trophies, medals and certificates. Mementos and cash prizes were also distributed among all the match officials. Zia ul Rehmaan of Himalayan Drass was adjudged the Man of the Series with 04 goals n Ghulam Nabi of Chiktan Blue was the Man of the Match with 02 goals. Ameen Polo was also felicitated with memento for his cooperation and support during the tournament. Among others, Executive Councilor Sh.Aga Abbas, Executive Councilor Mohsin Ali, Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Sh.Kacho Hassan Khan, Brigade Commander 56 Mountain Drass, SDM Drass, Dy.SP Hq Kargil Sh.
