Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 25: Additional Sessions Judge, Jammu, M A Choudhary today awarded three years rigorous imprisonment to each of the five accused who were facing trial in an attempt to murder case for the last 13 years. The accused included Sunil Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Som Nath, Guchhu Ram and Harbans Lal. According to the police case, Ravi Kumar, son of Om Parkash of Muthi, who had been working as a labourer with Mohan Lal, son of Manga Ram Bhagat of Patoli Brahmana, allegedly told police that on December 9, 2002, he and Mohan Lal were going from Muthi to Patoli on a scooter on December 9, 2002, at about 7.45 am when Sunil Kumar and Ashok Kumar, sons of Rattan Lal, Guchhu Lal, son of Ami Chand, Bawa, son of Guchhu Ram of Patoli Brahmana and Pakhi Ram, son of Sham Lal Bhagat of Gho Manhasan, beat them up with an intention to kill them. He alleged that Sunil hit Mohan Lal on his head with a sword and others pelted stones on them. They were saved by the people who assembled there after they raised a hue and cry, otherwise they would have been killed them. A case was then registered at Domana police station under sections 307, 341 and 336 of RPC and 4/25 of Arms Act. The judge, after hearing the additional PP, convicted all the accused and awarded them three years rigorous imprisonment. A fine of Rs 4,000 was also imposed on each of them. (JNF) |
