Early Times Report jammu, Feb 25: Senior rank J&K cadre IPS officers, who are on Central deputation for the past several years, seem to be least interested in coming back to the State again. When they left J&K, there was general dissatisfaction among most of them with less prominent State postings. They are not interested to serve in J&K and want to retire from there. While the State Government had in the past tried to call them back to J&K, they had used their links in the Home Ministry to retain their Central postings, police sources said. RR Swain, an IGP rank officer, who left the State in 2006, was still serving in a Central department. Under rule, any officer could remain out of the State for a maximum of three to five years, but he was on Central deputation for the past more than 10 years now, the sources added. While ADGP S Gopal Reddy and DIG SD Singh are on Central deputation since 2011, IGP Pankaj Saxena and DIG SP Pani are on Central deputation since 2010 and 2009 respectively. "All these officers have been managing their postings in the Central Government departments using their links. While their deputation period nears completion in one department, they manage their posting in another department," sources said. While Reddy had managed his deputation in Andhra Pradesh and then to another department, Swain too had managed his postings in three Central Government departments. When Pani's deputation period ended in NIA, he managed his second posting in IB, sources informed. Sources said these IPS officers continued to be on deputation to the Centre even as the State was faced with the shortage of senior officers. |
