| 17 families await compensation for their land | | |

Mendhar, Feb 25: 17 families were awaiting for compensation of their land which has come under a road project in the year 2011 in this tehsil of Poonch district.
Sources said the road from Dharma to Gohlat 5 km in length was constructed some 5 years ago in which land of 17 families of the area, measuring 54 kanals and 16 marlas had come under the project.
The families have been running from pillar to post but the compensation was not given to the families, the sources said that these families have knocked the doors of XEn PMGSY and SDM Mendhar many a times but their pleas were not heard.
The SDM Mendhar Thakur Sher Singh had also shot a letter vide No. SDM/LA/PMGSY/150-58 dated 14-8-2013 endorsing thereby the acquisition of land from these families but it is learnt that the file was still with the DC Office Poonch, sources said.
The families belonging to poor category were unable to bear the expenses of official expenditures to make the file move, yet urged administration that without doing further delay the compensation be granted in their favour so that their worriers may be over come. |
