Work on PWD projects moves at snail's pace
2/25/2016 10:59:50 PM

AJAY SHARMA
Early Times Report
Rajouri, Feb 25: Notwithstanding the tall government claims that development works were being done with a great speed all over the state, seven PWD projects were moving at snail's pace in the district.
Official sources said tenders for repairing of Khiska and Rabri bridges in Sunderbani were allotted in 2007-08, but the work was yet to be completed. Similarly, the construction of a hospital building and a treasury building in Sunderbani for which tendering process was completed in 2014-15 had still not reached its completion stage, sources alleged.
Construction of Barnada-Nahoti, Devak-Syer and Bambla roads in Sunderbani had yet not been completed even as their tendering process was completed in 2011-22, sources said, adding though the work was to be completed within a month or so, it was yet incomplete.
When contacted, Divisional Engineer, Nowshera, Vikram Singh said the delay in completing these projects was due to the shortage of funds. "These will be completed as soon as we get the funds," he added.
