Early Times Report Poonch, Apr 13: Baisakhi was today celebrated with enthusiasm and fervour across the Poonch especially those belonging to the Sikh community who thronged at highly revered shrine of Dera Nangali Sahib in Poonch. Baisakhi was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety at Dera Nangali Sahib as the occasion witnessed religious sermons. Hundreds of pilgrims from Jammu, Srinagar, Punjab, Haryana and other parts of the country attended the religious sermon. On the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi festival, Vice Chancellor Sai Nath University Dr Shazad Malik paid his obeisance at revered shrine of Nangali Sahib and extended his greetings to Sikh community. On his arrival the members of Gurudwara Parbandak Commitee accorded him warm welcome. The vice chancellor recalled the valour and sacrifices of the spiritual leaders of the Sikh Community. He also threw light of message of Sikhism and teachings of Sant Feru Singh ji, the founder of Nangali Sahib Gurudwara in Poonch. He also appreciated the role of Mahant S Manjeet Singh ji for opening educational institution and encouraging the youth of the community towards education and also offered fullest support to further strengthen such educational institutions. In his interaction, the VC said Sikhs across the world have achieved their own reputation and this is possible only because of their dedication and patriotism towards their nation. The occasion also was graced by Mahant Manjeet Singh ji, S Narinder Singh, President SGPC Poonch, S Rajinder Singh, General Secretary, SGPC Poonch, Advocta Rajinder Singh, Prof Netar Singh, Principal Santa Racha Singh Degree College, Jammu, Charanjeet Singh and Surjan Singh Joint Secretary of SGPC Poonch, Earlier S Narinder Singh, District President SGPC Poonch presenting a Sropa to visiting personality and acknowledged the humble support of the Vice Chancellor for different religious shrines and other educational institutions. |
