JAMMU, Apr 13: Sri Sant Mela Singh Technical Ashram, Digiana on Wednesday celebrated Baisakhi festival at Gurdwara Digina Ashram, Jammu. According to press release, on the direction of Akal Takht Sahib Amritsar, the administration of Digiana Ashram celebrated Baisakhi festival with great zeal and enthusiasm in its Ashram premises. The programme was organized in collaboration with Ragi Pracharakhs along with the entire Sikh sangat as well as various Sikh organizations of Jammu and Kashmir elected member of DGPC Jammu. The organizations including Sikh United front J&K, Bhai Kanhaya Nishkam Sewa Society J&K, All India Sikh students federation, Sikh welfare society, Sikh Naujawan sabha as well as all the Gurudwaras Local Committees were actively participated to organize the festival. While delivering the sermon over Baisahki festival to Sikh Sangat, the head of the Gurudwara said that on this day in year 1699,the 10thSikh Guru ,Guru Govind Singh Ji, laid down the foundation of the Panth Khalsa or the Sikh Panth. All the speakers congratulated the people of Jammu and Kashmir on this holy day. Mahant Manjit singh said that this day is also the birth day of Khalsa Pant. the tenth Guru Shri Govind Singh on the day Baiskhi during 1699,where now the congregation of around 70000 people at Anandpur sahib in Punjab where Guru ji demanded from the Sangat to present Five Sikh Pyaras and asked them to sacrifice in favour of 10th Guru. |
