12 bovines rescued, one bovine smuggler held | | | Early Times Report Udhampur, Apr 13: Police today claimed to have foiled one attempts of bovine smuggling with arrest oif one bovine smuggler while rescuing 12 bovine animals. A case stands registered in this regard. "The accused has been identified as Mohamed Sultan (Driver) s/o Shah Jaman of Nagrota Jammu, police said. Police sources said, "Acting on reliable information, a police party of police station Udhampur laid a surprise naka on the Jakhani National Highway and intercepted one Truck bearing registration number JK14B-0980, on its way towards Kashmir." During thorough search, the truck was found loaded with 12 bovine animals. Police rescued these animals and seized the truck besides arresting the smuggler, Mohamed Sultan driver of vehicle. He was arrested on the spot after he failed to produce required document for inter- district transportation of animals. Udhampur police has registered cases FIR No. 120/16 under Section 188/RPC 3 PCA Act and further investigations are going on. |
