Jammu, Apr 19: In the larger interest of teaching fraternity, General Line Teachers Forum (GTLF), while highlighting their demands today seeking intervention from the Minister for Education Naeem Akhtar and MoS Priya Sethi for revocation of Govt Order No 469 of 2014 dtd 25/06/2014 which they described as uncalled and unjustified. While welcoming team of Minister for Education Naeem Akhtar and MoS Priya Sethi on their reassuming the charge of Education Department, the State President GLTF Neeraj Sharma in a press conference here today said, "GLTF eagerly wanted the duo to come back and to restart the various progressive measures initiated in their earlier brief stint." Neeraj Sharma said that Forum always subscribe and support all the ways and measures being adopted to improve schools in the state. While highlighting the demands of the forum, Sharma said that the Govt should revoke the order No. 469 of 2014 dtd 25/06/2014 which provides inclusion of 5 years of temporary service of ReTs for seniority. He also demanded "no transfer for ReTs /RRTS whether male or female" as it would jeopardize the whole education setup whether Forum demand to revert them to their original place of engagement. ReTs transfer will open up backdoor entry channel as the ReTs would deliberately get transfer to pave the way for their near and dear ones for engagement on their posts," he apprehended. "The marriage ground for transfers is unconvincing and obsolete as a large number women are working at distant places in other departments like medical, police, and other government departments etc but how can it affects the ReTs, he said. The other major demands of GLTF highlighted in this media interaction included cancellation of promotions (Master, Lecturer, Head Master) on the basis of fake degrees, Dis-engagement of ReTs from schools clubbed or closed due to poor enrolment, Screening of ReTs by an independent agencyand etc Among those present in this press conference were Sonu Sharma Provisional General Secretary, Kulbushan Singh Secretary, Dalip Kumar Digra, Dr Sudesh Sharma, Dig Vijay Singh District President Jammu, Amit Dabgotra, Naresh Manhas, Tejinder Singh and others. |
