Bovine smugglers thrash SHO in 'bribe case' | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 19: Doing his duty proved fatal to a Station House Officer (SHO) of a police station in Jammu district who allegedly was thrashed by some bovine smugglers on the other day after he allegedly refused to give them safe passage despite receiving money from them. Police sources said that few days ago, the said SHO from his mentors came to know that he is under scanner of some senior police officers for his alleged nexus with bovine smugglers and in a bid to shield himself from any action, he started raising nakas along National Highway to show his dutifulness. This might have served good to him but left the bovine smugglers irked especially those who allegedly had already paid enticement much in advance to the SHO for giving a safe passage to them. Infuriated over the behavior of the SHO, a group of bovine smugglers gave him beating. Here it needs to mention the officer is not in good books of his seniors. Sources further claimed that the said SHO had served in prestigious police stations of Jammu district and had good blessings of a former minister of NC-Congress government and a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA). |
