KPC condemns OIC for its support to so-called right to 'self-determination' in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report
New Delhi/Jammu, Apr 19 : Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has condemned over the Organisation of Islamic conference (OIC) for support to the people of Kashmir for their illegal and so--called right to self-determination" as well as its alleged human right violations in Kashmir and asked to refrain from making such references in future. KPC Chief Kundan Kashmiri has termed it as an undue interference in the internal matters of Indian Nation, misleading and to defame Indian Nation at international level. He advised the OIC to refrain from making such references in future as Kashmir does not belong to Kashmiri Muslims only, but mainly belongs to Kashmiri Pandits and other section of the people In a meeting of its activists held here at New Delhi KPC Chief Kundan Kashmiri voiced its concern for continued support to the people of Kashmir in their illegal and so--called struggle for the right to self-determination" in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions. "In fact it has become a fashion for the OIC to refer to the demand for right of self-determination and human rights violations in Kashmir, he added. He suggested Govt of India and leaders at the helm of affairs not to give any serious heed to the revelations of such Islamic summits as OIC has come in existence just to defame and malign Indian nation. KPC Chief further stated that one of the main jobs of the OIC is to berate India's role in Kashmir and other major duty that has been assigned to the OIC, ostensibly by Pakistan is to support the so--called right of self-determination. In fact the OIC has deliberately ignored one important factor that large number of Muslims live in India than in Pakistan, he said, adding, "Pakistan has no right to defend people of Kashmir and support the UN resolutions on Kashmir." The OIC should know that even the senior functionaries of the UN have stated that the UN resolutions on Kashmir are obsolete and on occasions some super powers have stated that implementation of such UN resolution was not now possible because more than 70 years have elapsed when these resolutions were adopted by the UNSC. KPC Sr. vice President Tej Pandita also spoke in this meeting. |
