Vomedh theatre celebrates foundation day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 15: Vomedh theatre group working to revive Kashmiri folk theatre, celebrated its tenth foundation day. Talking to the reporters, Rakesh Roshan Bhat the mentor of the group who is also the playwright said that Vomedh has been at the forefront of rejuvenation of theatre and arts in Jammu especially what he calls 'Theatre in exile'. Many organizations are doing stupendous work for the preservation of our culture and ethos in exile. However, Vomedh chose to focus mainly on theatre because through theatre one can build up an immediate connect with the audience and can leave a positive impact. It also serves as an open platform for the talented youth of state. He is happy that the youth are able to channelize their energy positively through this platform. Reminiscing the journey of past ten years Rakesh said that we are proud of all our productions but Ek Aur Birbal- is very special to us as it connected so well with the audience and gave us lot of love and affection from everyone Elaborating on future plans of Vomedh, founder director Rohit said that we are doing the.3rd show of Ek Aur Birbal tomorrow. Ek Aur Birbal deserves to be seen by all and hence we would leave no stones unturned to take this play all over India. We are also instituting annual Pt. Birbal Dhar Award from this year. This would be a humble way to pay respect to the great visionary and crusader Pt Birbal Dhar. |
