Ignored by Govt, migrant schools show tremendous results | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 15: Despite lack of support from migrant schools in Jammu have shown tremendous results in class 12th and 10th the results of which were declared recently by State Board of School Education. The overall results of the camp schools in Jammu were 60 percent while the camp school of Roop Nagar excelled in both 12th as well as 10th class results. Despite the school being housed in a private building having no infrastructual facilities like laboratories and library facilities has shown tremendous results in both 10th and 12th class. This is not for the first time but the school excelled in past years too and its performance was far better. As it is an old adage that bricks and mortals do not make a school but these are the teaching personals coupled with effective and scientific management that ultimately counts and the staff of the migrant school proved their mettle by showing extra ordinary results in both the classes. However the State Government never extended any help and support to these institutions and rendered them as orphans. In this school there is not even a staff room, there is no play ground, no laboratory and library. The school has neither genuine classrooms nor nay other facilities but still it got 87 percent pass percentage in class 12th standard, 75 percent in Science stream 24 subject positions, 34 distinctions and 37 first divisions. Likewise in Class 10th the performance of the School was remarkable despite the fact that the children from down-trodden and economically languished class read there. They have come out with 83 percent pass percentage securing distinctions and large number of pass percentage. It may be recalled that during the admission the staff, management and Principal have to face wrath, anger and even unlawful aggression from the public. The school can at the most accommodate 330 students but it is stretched to 425 due to tremendous pressure on hapless management. Though the school ahs become star attraction in the entire locality but the absence of proper infrastructure, poor staff and principal have become scapegoat which is unjust and inhuman. If such performance of the government schools will continue the day is not far away when they will regain their past glory and there will be rush of admission in these schools and people will forget the private institutions which charge a lofty fee. |
