| 'Mafia encroaches State land, admn mum' | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, May 15: Syed Shabir Ahmed Shah President of MDF alleged that hundreds kanal of state land /Government land encroached by land mafia in the Pir Kho area under the nose of Deputy Commissioner’s office Jammu but concerned authority failed to take action in this regard so far.
Addressing media persons, he stated that complaint has already been made to the district administration, Jammu and the Revenue Minister. The standing rules and recent strict judgments/orders of Supreme Court of India and state High Court Jammu on retrieving state/government land directing state government for initiating strict legal action against the land grabbers and the restoring of such land no action is being taken in this regard.
He further said that a deputation of civil society Jammu comprising Legal Fraternity, Lawyers, Prominent Citizens and Workers Association of all communities approached the Revenue Minister Basharat Bukhari and Commissioner Secretary, Mohammad Afzal and brought in their notice encroachment of state government land by a land grabber. The Minister issued strong direction to DC Jammu for retrieving of the said encroached land which the land grabber is continuously selling in piece wise manner more than hundred kanal land has been sold by him already but all in vein.
The Revenue officials and their field staff has made spot verification and took stock of the situation but having hand in glove with the Revenue officials neither any action has been taken against the said land grabber nor the encroached land was restored retrieved the JMC officials including hand in gloves with the said land grabber and illegal construction/strucrres are allowed by grazing the ply of concerned JMC officials expressing surprise. |
