WWS to hold protest against Police dept 5/15/2016 9:50:41 PM Early Times Report Jammu, May 15: Women Welfare Society alleged that despite the tall claims of the government regarding to end discrimination with women, they were still being victimized at various places by some police officials. WWS threaten to hold protest before India Gate against Jammu and Kashmir Police Department. Addressing media persons, president of society Menu Jamwal said keeping in view of such things, Women Welfare Society was constituted and other offices bearers including Vimla Salathia Vice President and Prabha Salathia Secretary were also present on the occasion. Narrating her ordeal during press conference, she alleged worst kind of victimization by the land mafia and police. She recalled that a group of person with malafied intention attacked to snatch her plot situated at Gorkha Nagar Jammu. On protest Kerosene oil was sprinkled over her and on reporting the matter to the police, the complainant herself was put behind the bars and FIR was lodged contrarily against the complainant. The police criminals' nexus is growing day by day. "SHO Bagh-e-Bahu Jammu, Vijay Choudhary himself is having criminal track record is the person who had molested number of innocent girls and women by misusing his rank position. An FIR 47/200I u/s 366 stands registered in PS Gandhi Nagar against him, " she further alleged. She also alleged similarly a written complaint was lodged to SSP by a victim girl student against the said SHO but no action has been taken in this regard and there are number of cases of malpractice of the police officials but no action till date. She expressed hope that the first women CM Mehbooba Mufti will restore their lost confidence over the administration and the deliverance of justice.
