Dogri Sanstha, KVM Trust institute Kunwar Viyogi Literary Award | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 9: Dogri Sanstha and Kunwar Viyogi Memorial Trust have instituted an annual literary award in the memory of renowned Dogri litterateur editor, columnist and Sahitya Akademi Awardee Group Captain IAF (retired) Randhir Singh, popularly known as `Kunwar Viyogi' in literary circles. Sponsored by the trust for the promotion of Dogri Language and literature, the Award carries a cash amount of rupees 11,000, a Memento and a Citation. It would be given on the best book in Dogri or translation of Dogri book in any recognized Indian language by a young Indian author whose age is below 42 on 4th September on the year of the award. The books published during the last four years preceding the award year shall be considered for Kunwar Viyogi Sahitya Puruskar. Born in 1940 in Gour village of Jammu district, Kunwar Viyogi with an enviable command over Dogri, Hindi, English and Urdu created literary gems like his book of a long Dogri poem named "Ghar" for which he was awarded by Sahitya Akademi in the year 1980. He used 'Ghar' a compilation of 238 four-line verses, as a symbol and centre of life and love. Dogri writers can submit four copies of their books published between 2012 to 2015. |
