NC playing dangerous game, provokes Kashmiri Muslims against India | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 9: The Friday elimination of terrorist Burhan Wani at the hands of the security forces has not only naturally angered the seditionists like Geelani, Mirwaiz and Malik and many civil society groups in the Valley, besides sections of Kashmiri commentators and opinion-makers, but it has also angered the out-of-power NC and its leaders like working president Omar Abdullah. Separatists in one voice on Friday gave a call for complete shutdown in Kashmir. Not surprising. It has become customary with them to enact such acts. Important was what Omar Abdullah did to add fuel to the anti-India fire. Seeing an opportunity to restore his lost space in the Valley and corner the PDP leadership, especially party president and J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti, Omar Abdullah turned to twitter.com with a view to instigating gullible Kashmiri Muslims against the state government as well as India and telling New Delhi that the situation in Kashmir would remain tense as long as the political issue of Kashmir remained unsettled. He went to the extent of giving Burhan a clean chit and also feigned ignorance about what Burhan used to do to attack the Indian state after he was voted out of office in 2014-2015. One of his tweets read like this: "@omar_abdullah ts read like this: he Indian state after he was voted out of pelling New Delhi that the situation in Kashmir woulAlas Burhan isnn't the ist to pick up the gun & won't be the last. @jknc_ has always maintained that a political problem needs pol. Solution". The meaning of what he said was as clear as crystal. He held New Delhi responsible for the prevailing communal unrest in Kashmir and he also gave te slain terrorist a clean chit. His second tweet was equally dubious. It read: "@omar_abdullah For all Burhan's social media activity I don't recall any militancy incident attributed to him while Iwas in office. Not sure after that". It suggested two thins. One, according to him, Burhan was innocent when he was the Chief Minister. Two, it suggested that he didn't take take interest in what Burhan and others of his ilk had done after he handed over the reigns of administration to the state governor to be followed by the PDP-BJP coalition's rule. The point is that Omar Abdullah didn't behave responsibly at a time when the need was to commend the security forces which eliminated Burhan. That he acted otherwise only suggested that he doesn't mind misusing his official position to add more fuel to the fire instead of dousing fire. |
