| Verification begins, Vinaika Mission University under scanner | | Promotion of 150 foresters on fake degrees' | |

Jammu, July 9: Corroborating Early Times news reports, the State Vigilance Organization (SVO) has begun verification into promotions of 150 Foresters on basis of 'fake' degree.
Sources in Vigilance divulged that especially the degrees from Vinaika Mission University are under scanner.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Early Times on April 16, 2016 edition a published news story with caption "150 Foresters hold fake degrees from Vinaika Mission University", the agency begun its investigation. "The investigation had begun a month back, after identification of 'beneficiaries' of these degrees has also most completed", sources said, adding that and accordingly, further action would be taken.
The Forest Department vide Circular No.03 of 2016 dated 02.04.2016 had issued a revised seniority, without taking into consideration the rules and length of their service and fulfilling the criteria under rules viz SRO 335 while promoting the foresters reflected in the list.
Most of the candidates mentioned in the seniority list, were appointed as Casual Labourers, motivators in Social Forestry Department and Telephone Operators had no proper/recognized appointing authorities.
It is also matter of enquiry how they managed to undergo KFC training which is not possible without the connivance with the staff working in CCF's/PCCF's office. Above all most of the candidates shown in the tentative seniority list, appointed as Daily Wagers, have managed fake Degrees and produced for getting promotions as Foresters/Rangers in connivance with the officers/staff at the helm of the affairs in Forest Department.
According to sources, earlier the matter of fake degrees was brought in notice of Vigilance and Crime branch by deprived officials' anonymously, but these agencies remained unmoved due to involvement of some big fishes in fake degree promotion scam in the department. |
