Congress join estranged yatris to raise anti-govt slogans

Jammu, July 9: Several Congress workers under the leadership of senior Congress leader Sumeet Magotra gathered at Jakhani Chowk as they came to know Amarnath yatris are being severely beaten by the anti-social element in Kashmir Valley. Some of Amarnath yatris managed to escape from valley and reached at Jakhani chowk. Crowd witnessed their wound and broken vehicles. A large number of people along with Congress workers and Amaranth yatirs raised slogans against state BJP-PDP Government. While addressing a large gathering Sumeet Magotra flays on state government as well a J&K police for not providing adequate security to Amaranth pilgrims. He further said that before the start of Amarnath Yatra state Government was claiming for proper and tight security during holy yatra of Shri Amarnath Yatra. Magotra claimed that present government has totally failed to provide security to the people. Pilgrims disclosed that their departure from yatra they were stopped and manhandles by the mob. They again disclosed that some of the youths from mob asked them to raise slogans "Pakistan zindabad" if they will not follow their order then they will shoot them. Pilgrims also said that they observed security arrangements are totally collapsed. Police parties headed by DSP headquarter managed to maintain peace and they appealed the protestors to cooperate them. Sumeet Magotra also criticized the district administration for not providing facilities to the Amaranth yatris who were forcibly stopped at Udhampur to continue the yatra due to the situation of Kashmir valley.
